DALGADO, D. G. (1919) LORD BYRON’S CHILDE HAROLD’S PILGRIMAGE TO PORTUGAL. CRITICALLY EXAMINED BY DR. (…). LISBOA: IMPRENSA NACIONAL. DE 20X14 CM. COM XXIV, 97, [3] PÁGS. E.
“The folllowing pages contain a critical examination of that portion of Lord Byron’s ‘Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage which refers to Portugal. My principal aimis to point out why it was that Lord Byron reviled the Portuguese wtih passionate animosity, and presentend them as though possessing no redeeming features. This inquiry is of considerable interest and has not yet received that amount of attention which it desserves. (…). In ‘Childe Harold’ the great poet describes the more important physical features, the most striking historical facts, and the prominent characteristics of the peoples and countries he visited. (…) Lord Byron’s other writings referring to Portugal have not the same interest as his ‘Childe Harold’.”Ex. valorizado com dedicatória do punho do autor para o Dr. […].
